Steven Bowers
Steven has 12 years of experience on the mats, and has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Nogi since 2012. He began studying Muay Thai, BJJ and NoGi Grappling under black belt Jordy Denney at CJ Martial Arts in Nanaimo, BC. A move to Edmonton in 2015 brought him to Third Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (formerly Munduruca) under professors Shawn Jewitt and Jay Redmond, where he received his Blue Belt from Shawn, Jay and Rodrigo Munduruca in 2016. He then trained from 2018 - 2021 under IBJJF World Champion Black Belts Jean-Marc and Matthew Degroot at Van Isle BJJ in Victoria, BC, before returning to Alberta in 2021 where he opened HPBJJ.
Steven currently holds the rank of Brown Belt.
Philip Moore
Phillip Moore began training MMA and No-Gi Brazilian jujitsu in 2012 through the Gorilla Fight Club in Peace River, an active competition Gym training and sending fighters to organized kickboxing, MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions through the 5-Star Fight organization. He trained and competed until 2014 when the club disbanded. Phillip then moved to Slave Lake where he continued to train with other martial arts enthusiasts locally until moving back to the High Prairie area. Phillip began training at the High Prairie Brazilian Jiu jitsu club in 2021, receiving his blue belt in 2022 from 3rd Degree BJJ Black Belts Shawn Jewett and Jay Redmond. He was then promoted to purple belt in 2024. Phillips whole family attends the gym and is always happy to have new students and peers to roll and improve with.
